Sampling types & Standards

Our initial sampling is carried out in accordance with VDA (PPF), AIAG (PPAP), as well as our own Würth standards and customer‑specific requirements.

  • Digital capture of all inspection‑relevant characteristics
  • Modern, standardised testing for transparent inspection results

Whether initial sampling, requalification or special sampling, we create the basis for secure serial production and stable supply chains.

Testing methods and laboratory expertise

Our inspections are carried out directly in our own accredited testing laboratory.

  • Access to a global network of accredited quality laboratories
  • Comprehensive analyses performed directly on site

This enables us to identify and prevent quality deviations at an early stage – already in the country of origin and across the entire supply chain. As a result, we ensure consistent product quality and reduce risks for our customers.

QVP light

Our practical approach provides a structured and efficient framework for quality planning tailored to actual needs – even in the absence of specific customer requirements.

It ensures a clear, streamlined path to quality‑assured serial production without added complexity.

IMDS – International Material Data System

We support you in the creation, maintenance and submission of material data via the IMDS portal.

This ensures that all material and environmental requirements are fully documented, legally compliant, and structured according to the required data format – including for parts not subject to initial sampling.

Integration into the supply chain

All quality‑relevant information – from inspection reports and initial sample approvals to complaint analyses – is digitally captured, analysed, and integrated into your value creation processes. [Michael P...ssfreigabe | Loop]

Our objective: stable processes, transparent data flows, and partnership‑based collaboration across the entire supply chain – delivering quality you can rely on.

Supplier approval process

The supplier approval process is a core element of quality management and ensures that only qualified suppliers deliver products suitable for series production.

1

Initial enquiry & Document submission

Our purchasing colleagues identify the requirement and provide the supplier with standardised documents (such as the supplier manual, supplier self‑disclosure, self‑assessment, sample initial inspection report, and required delivery specifications)

2

Document receipt & Review

Once the completed documents have been submitted, they are reviewed within the process chain for completeness and content.

3

Audit & Evaluation

If required, a quality audit is conducted with a focus on production processes, inspection equipment, and the quality management system, including documentation.

4

Approval decision

New suppliers go through a clearly defined approval process. The objective is to establish long‑term, quality‑capable partners for the Würth Group.

Approval requirements:

  • Complete and duly signed documentation
  • Proof of initial sample delivery capability, where required
  • Fulfilment of our specific requirements (e.g. VDA, PPAP, supplier manual, transport and packaging regulations, product‑specific audit criteria, etc.)
  • Positive evaluation based on the established four‑ or six‑eyes principle
