Reliable processes play a significant role, especially in times of capacity and supply bottlenecks as well as rising transport and energy costs. At its Kloten site, WISAR, Wyser + Anliker AG relies on the intelligent supply solutions of Würth Industrie Service GmbH & Co. KG to perfectly connect all processes. The scale system iSCALE has been successfully deployed since August 2022 for digital storage management and uninterrupted replenishment within the production supply. Measuring the weight, the system notifies the requirements of production materials and other small parts digitally - from the customer’s point of use directly to the ERP system of Würth Industrie Service and, thus ensures exact replenishment. With the system being transferred from pilot phase to regular operation, WISAR now secures an almost independent logistical storage management for C-Parts.

The expansion of the state-of-the-art logistics centre for industrial supplies in Europe has laid the foundation for the further growth of Würth Industrie Service GmbH & Co. KG, both at national and international level. The excavations for building a new automated high-bay warehouse with additional 59,000 storage spaces covering more than 4,000 square metres started at the end of July 2022. The official ground-breaking ceremony was held on Thursday, 4th August, 2022 marking the symbolic go-ahead for the construction. Around 30 invited guests, including Nina Warken, Member of the German Bundestag CDU/CSU, Christoph Schauder, District Administrator of Main-Tauber-Kreis, Manuela Zahn, 1st Deputy Mayor of Bad Mergentheim, Marcel Stephan, Head of Department for Economic Development & Urban Marketing of Bad Mergentheim, the planners and engineers involved and the Management of Würth Industrie Service, celebrated the milestone of the company. The commissioning is planned for April 2024.

The use of renewable energy instead of fossil fuels is the most sought-after solution on the path to achieving greenhouse gas-neutrality. Würth Industrie Service GmbH & Co. KG, an expert in the field of C-parts management for manufacturing industry customers, intends to lead by example and not only compensate for the rising CO2 footprint but also reduce it sustainably at the Bad Mergentheim location by implementing smart solutions. The company is contributing towards climate protection with the recent commissioning of an additional photovoltaic system. The sprawling plant covering an area of 2,500 square metres has an output of around 480 kWp, which equates to an estimated output of around 415,000 kWh per year. This output is enough to supply around 140 single-family households with electricity per year. At the Drillberg location, multiple photovoltaic systems are currently operational with a combined output of over 900 kWp and generated volume of over 800,000 kWh.

In 2008, the first pre-series models were tested for the customer projects in industrial Kanban and the solutions were deployed under the brand CPS®RFID shortly thereafter. On 9th September 2021, the RFID system family as well as the intelligent shelf iSHELF® of Würth Industrie Service GmbH & Co. KG celebrated the tenth anniversary. By now more than 10000 modules are used in industrial production for decentralised material supply.

Despite the market conditions being affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, Würth Industrie Service GmbH & Co. KG was able to achieve a turnover of 536 million euros in the fiscal year 2020. “Last year was particularly challenging in all aspects.” states Rainer Bürkert, Member of the Central Managing Board of the Würth Group. “The Coronavirus forced us into a temporary lockdown. The partners STILL GmbH and Würth Industrie Service GmbH & Co. KG have shown that Industry 4.0 can function smoothly at the forklifts and industrial trucks specialist’s plant in Hamburg. There, iPLACER®, a self-sufficient RFID module, is being used for a seamless supply of production materials. It was possible to implement the new system without time-consuming retrofitting of existing processes as well as without costly programming. The system was officially transferred from its pilot phase into regular operations in the STILL’s plant in Hamburg just in time at the end of the year.

Würth Industrie Service GmbH & Co. KG recognized this need early on and formed a team of PPE experts for its customers already back in 2007. Their expertise was now backed up further by the seminar for future PPE product specialists that was organized by TÜV SÜD Akademie. More than 500 invited guests from around the world met for the first Expert Forum C-Parts Management at Industriepark Würth in Bad Mergentheim to discuss the challenges of Industry 4.0, digitalisation and autonomisation in the industrial sector and logistics industry. There are already numerous technological innovations in the logistics industry. Clear trends here are collaboration and self-organising processes. Apart from representatives from Kärcher, KUKA, STILL and Würth, the top-class speakers included Prof. Dr. Michael ten Hompel, for whom logistics play the central role in the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
|Space for 150,000 pallets - Würth Industrie Service’s extended logistics centre starts operation|
Würth Industrie Service GmbH & Co. KG has expanded its European logistics centre in Bad Mergentheim. A new fully automatic high-rack warehouse has raised capacity by more than 49,000 pallet storage slots to currently around 650,000 storage locations, 150,000 of them for pallets alone.

On Tuesday, 28 March 2017, the storage and retrieval machines were delivered and installed for Würth Industrie Service GmbH & Co. KG’s new high-bay warehouse at Würth Industrial Park in Bad Mergentheim.

Würth Industrie Service GmbH & Co. KG successfully expanded its sales volume to EUR 455 million in the financial year 2016. The planned targets could be achieved thanks to a 7.1 percent growth rate.

The winners of the showcase event, the German Packaging Awards 2016, have been chosen. An independent expert jury selected 34 of the best packaging solutions out of more than 200 entries from Germany, France, Italy, Mexico, the Netherlands, Austria, Poland and Switzerland. Würth Industrie Service GmbH & Co. KG was awarded the German Packaging Award 2016 in the "Logistics and material flow" category for its solution in the field of Kanban bins.

On 21 July 2016, the ground work began in advance of construction of the most modern logistics centre for industrial supply in Europe at Würth Industrie Service GmbH & Co. KG. This moment was marked with an official ground-breaking ceremony featuring 30 invited guests, including Mayor Udo Glatthaar, member of the German parliament Margaret Horb, the planners and engineers involved, as well as Würth Industrie Service management.

On 20 April 2016, Würth Industrie Service GmbH & Co. On January, 16th 2013, Würth Industrie Service is the first C-Part partner to present a visual ordering system which will revolutionize the entire Materials Managements sector. It is now possible, for the first time, to transfer filling level, quantity and information of articles automatically to the inventory management system via integrated camera using RFID technology on a bin level. This means that not only is consumer-controlled supply of small parts for production requirements possible on a just-in-time basis, but C-Part supply is also executed by real time transfer via image format: simply iNTELLIGENT!
